It’s really difficult for me to put this day into words. Feelings of joy and accomplishment, relief and disbelief.
I know my name gets the credit, but this was not a solo undertaking. Going back for a Master’s Degree has always been a goal of mine, but I never dreamed I’d be able to go back to school with two young children. It wouldn’t be possible without the love, patience, support and motivation from my wife @koraldean. I literally cannot express my gratitude and love for all of her understanding and support she’s provided me over the last two and a half years. This would have been impossible if it weren’t for her. I hope @auburnu is able to add her name on that diploma because she deserves it.
My children have also had to sacrifice their time with me some days, and I can’t wait to make it up to them each and every day. I hope they can look back and realize what hard work and perseverance can do. Maison and Wake - you’ve been my driving force since Day 1. Thank you for inspiring me.
I’m so thankful for the wonderful mentors and support staff of @auburnharbertbusiness who have assisted me along this ride. Auburn’s MBA program has the best staff in the nation.
Also, a big thank you to @thismichaeloneill for his words today. He has two signs in his house: The first: “Today’s not going to go the way think it will. The second (on the way out the door): “It’s not going to go that way either.” This journey definitely didn’t go as imagined. Trying to balance family, work, and school (social life ceased to exist) felt impossible some days. I can now look back and appreciate those hard days.
I’m blessed to be an Auburn man.
