Sakura - the Japanese name for Cherry blossoms. In Japan, the tree represents the fragility and beauty of life.
It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. When the cherry blossom trees bloom for a short time each year in brilliant force, they serve as a reminder of how precious and how precarious life is.
I've always wanted to see a cherry blossom tree in full bloom but traveling to Japan felt a tad bit expensive for me currently. But guess what I saw the tree without traveling to Japan!! 🌸
I've realised many times we underestimate the diversity of our own country in terms of the landscape, the flora & fauna, the culture and the historical significance. Did you even know there's a cherry blossom festival in Shillong every year in November? And there a lot of trees in other parts of North-East too, this one's from Nagaland!
Look around before you look out!
