Have you bought a pair of shoes that felt so amazing that you felt as if you could take on the world with them?Superb styling, striking colors, impeccable fit and finish, and a race proven pedigree for delivering renowned performance inspires an impossibly high level of expectations and they deliver at every mark.
Your first run begins as a critical assessment against your previous favorites but slowly gives way to an overwhelming feeling of euphoria as the exercise induced endorphins mix with the burst of dopamine from achieving a new level of performance.
It is difficult for a runner to keep their wits about them under these conditions. They might have forgotten to pay attention to their actual mechanics of running. Runners naturally adjust adjust the amount of force that they transmit into the ground without much thought. For example, if you encounter a trail with exposed rocks embedded into the path you’re not going to be inclined to apply a high amount of force on that surface because it’ll hurt. Contrarily, a highly cushioned pair of shoes would reduce our need to make those adjustments. Do cushioned shoes actually prevent injuries? It’s debatable... This post was inspired by my own life experiences and Owen Anderson’s book “Running Science”. Anyone on the DTC that has asked me about footwear knows that I am the worst type of fanboy when it comes to running shoes. They only ask once then they quickly realize that I have “issues”. 😂 #DenverTrackClub #TrackandField #TrackNation #Team800 #DistanceRunning #Marathon #42k #RunBoston #RunColfax
