“When I started my career in 1977, you literally couldn’t find any people of color on television." Tonya Williams, the founder of @reelworld Film Festival, is Black Hollywood excellence. An award winning actress and soapstar, she saw first hand the need for more representation both in front of, and behind the camera. On the 19th anniversary of the festival, @byblacks rolls out the red carpet for her with an interview I conducted a week before the launch...which is today btw.
Looking forward to seeing some outstanding films courtesy of BIPOC filmmakers? Reelworld has you covered from Oct 17th - 21st! 🎟🎬
