I recently went on a work trip to Birmingham (only 1 hour from London by train 🚂) and being an absolute sucker for history I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay at the Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel.
This Grade I listed Jacobean Mansion was built in the 17th century, and is set on what is apparently a very beautiful 10 acres of gardens. However, with the sun setting at 4pm these days, and an early departure the next day, I never saw it in the daylight. 🧛♀️ What I did see was their dining room which retains most of its original features, and I can highly recommend having a meal here to appreciate the atmosphere.
Here it is in the first purple light of morning, still looking impressive, if a little spooky. 🦇
