Episode Forty-Three: Encouraging Diving at Feet This drill encourages your goalkeeper to make those at the feet saves. For junior keepers, limited knowledge and the added pressure of fear can hinder their development. • Place two balls, a yard wider than each post. • Set up two mini goals at each post (I find having them on an angle most effective) • Have your starting ball central at a penalty spot distance. Start the drill with a testing low strike, this isn't a shooting drill so the strike should be enough to allow the goalkeeper to deal with it as the exercise is about attacking the second ball. I like to remain on one side for 10-15 balls before moving to the other. Then once the goalkeeper has shown a good understanding the natural progression is to then mix your runs and test that understanding. Losing fat and gaining muscle is a result many people think can't be achieved. However, I'm here to tell you that it IS achievable. You CAN lose fat and at the same time gain muscle. • All you have to do is stay in a slight calorie deficit, consume more protein and workout and train more but always adjust the work load for optimal match day performance. • As you can recognize, the only thing that is distinctive in this fat loss-muscle gain process is the SLIGHT CALORIE DEFICIT. • Here are some maths... • Let's say that by eating about 600 calories under your BMR every day you end up losing 2gr of fat and 1gr of muscle. Those are great results but you're also losing muscle. How Caan you turn that minus into a plus? • By staying in a slight calorie deficit. Anything around 200-300 calories under your BMR. In the example I just mentioned, if you were to eat 300 calories under your BMR, you would lose 1gr of fat and 0.5gr of muscle. Still at that minus, right? • By working out properly you can increase your muscle, am I right? YUP. • So if you end up combining all those 3 points together (slight calorie deficit - working out - protein intake) you'll end up with fat lost and muscle gained. • I just wanna warn you that this isn't something done overnight. This process of losing fat and gaining muscle is a constant process. You need to be patient and consistent with your work. • The results will unfold slowly but trust me it's going to be enjoyable af and you're gonna create a lifestyle for yourself that's healthy and sustainable. • What do you think?
