Norwich’s head coach Daniel Farke has told reporters that talisman and all round bargain-bin legend, Teemu Pukki, pushed through his own personal pain barrier on Saturday as he played the second half of the match against Leicester with a broken toe. Pukki put the Canaries ahead at King Power Stadium with a nerveless finish on 26 minutes, unfortunately suffering the injury later in the first half. That strike is his 9th ⚽️ of the campaign. A feat all the more impressive when you take into account his company in the race for the prestigious Golden Boot (also on 9): Sergio Agüero, Danny Ings, Harry Kane, Sadio Mané, Mo Salah and Raheem Sterling. The majority of these came during his early season antics, when the Pukki Party was in full effect. After numerous blanks (GW6-12) he was shafted by most managers, all of whom simply forgot that his early season form resembled that of a premium forward, which he is not, and a regression back towards the mean was inevitable. He is starting to trickle again with 3 ⚽️ and 7 bonus points in his last 4 games, raking in 27 points over that time. Not bad for a budget forward. The Canaries have a rather challenging run of fixtures and he has a broken toe, therefore he isn’t a @FPLJustTheTip shout. But we can appreciate a player who shows a bit of form and a whole heap of heart.
