She wears her scars so proudly. She owns the hand she’s been dealt in life. Even on the hard days, she barely stays stuck in the frustration for long.
She answers the questions of inquisitive kids who she encounters at the playground, with grace and giggles. Warm friendly smiles, at times a little shy but always gracious in allowing them to have a look.
It must get tiring for her, in fact I know it would but she seems to know that the best way is to roll with it, answer the questions and then get on with playing.
I hope she stays this way forever, I hope no one crushes her spirit with cruel words, or poor behaviour. I’m sure there will be moments, I just hope she knows that’s more a reflection of their own issues, not hers.
