✨Long post because I’m turning 30🙈
Haven’t uploaded anything the past week. I guess the new year blues caught me. Today, I feel like I just need to let it out.
To be honest, I kinda hate the idea of ‘new year, new beginning’. It gives us the pressure to make resolutions and stuff that will probably be forgotten by end of the first month.
It also breaks our hearts (and our willpower) once we start going back to the old ways. Missing the workout, cheating on that diet, slacking on a work night yadah yadah. I’ve had my series of failed new year goals that I’ve missed on the 2nd day of the year and I swear it’s really disappointing.
So my advise is, don’t set any resolution or goals.
Rather than rushing forward in a panic to set a list of goals you can start on, forget all that and enter the New Year in a mode of being absolutely present, and truly positive about how great things are going to be.
Start the season with zero pressure on your back to do anything other than to remain open to the possibility of your potential, receptive to change and ready to show compassion to yourself for all your shortcomings.
Just be your self, do your best and all the hustle and celebrate all the little milestones.
Do what your heart is yearning for and not what the society expects from you. To conform to the usual norms is to lose the self.
Lastly, empty your plate and step into this New Year without baggage from the past. If it feeds your soul, do it. If it keeps you energized, nourish the vibe. If it makes you want to get out of bed in the morning with a smile, carry on.
As for me, this 2020 (and as I turn 30), I will just allow myself to be me. I guess it’s the same alpha girl — with less pressure but more heart this time.
Happy ‘You’ Year everyone ❤️
