PL GAME 15:
We host Brighton tonight in Freddie’s second game as Interim Head Coach, with a chance to cut the gap with the top four to 7 points once again. Brighton will look to play an expansive game in possession, with Graham Potter implementing a very different philosophy than previous manager Chris Hughton- we must make sure we are better when defending on the transition.
As for our line-up, I’d like to see a return to a 4-2-3-1 personally, rather than the flat 4-3-3 we used on Sunday, so we can incorporate our best attacking players into the team. Leno will retain his place after a fine performance, Bellerin should come back into the side after Chambers struggled here and as he has now had a few days back in training. Chambers should be shifted into his more natural centre-back role, and alongside him, with Holding unlikely to be fully fit, Luiz keeps his place merely for his ability on the ball, an aspect that was vital to controlling the first half at Norwich. Tierney will likely replace Kolasinac, having been rested on the weekend. Once again, I’m calling for a Xhaka-Torreira pivot, by far our most effective one since the Uruguayan came to the club. As for the front four, I’m again calling for Ozil, Pepe, Aubameyang and Lacazette to all feature together.
